Malaysia Trip
Last month we spent a week in the E.Lawa village checking the book of Mark. The E.Lawa team has just begun translation and Mark is their first book of the New Testament.
We had a great time with the team. It was refreshing to be in the village and be able to sit around the same table with the translation team.
One unique aspect of the E.Lawa team is it is our first collaborative project with The United Bible Societies (UBS). We work closely with UBS, but usually our interactions only happen at publication, as UBS publishes quite a few of our finished products.
With the E.Lawa project both SIL and UBS are serving as consultants and quality control on the project. This has meant that while we spent a week out in the village checking portions of Mark, but so did a UBS consultant.
We enjoyed getting to know this UBS consultant and look forward to working with him again on the E.Lawa project.
That brings us to next week. SIL and UBS will be having collaborative meetings in Malaysia. Out of these meetings last year was birthed the idea to collaborate on a project, more than just publication. We will get to report back on the collaboration on the E.Lawa project and continue to build relationship with our colleagues in UBS. Both of us will attend these meetings, which means our boys will also accompany us on this trip. And we will be in Malaysia until the end of the month.
Please pray for our collaboration with UBS, in the E.Lawa project, but also at a larger scale. Pray for safe travels and good health throughout the trip. Pray that the boys will enjoy their time on the trip as well.

Thank you very much for giving to our ministry. Without your faithful prayer and financial support, we cannot do this work that God has called us to do.
